Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Natalia

Indrasari

MA, MS, LMFT, CSAC

Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with 23 years of clinical experience. Licensed in Iowa, Maryland, Virginia, and Hawaii.

My Background

Over two decades of clinical practice.

I have been practicing for over two decades, working with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of presenting concerns. My training spans psychoanalytic studies in the United Kingdom, graduate work in Hawaii, and clinical experience across multiple states and cultural contexts.

I am dually credentialed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, a combination that allows me to hold the full picture when addiction and relationship issues intersect, which they often do.

My work is particularly well-suited to people whose lives span cultures and borders: federal employees, military and foreign service families, expats, intercultural couples, third-culture adults, and international professionals. I understand the particular pressures of a life that keeps moving, and the identity questions that come with it.

I also speak Indonesian, and bring a culturally attuned lens to every client I work with, regardless of background.

My Approach

Integrative, practical, and genuinely collaborative

I don't work from a single framework. Depending on what you bring, I draw from Gottman Method, Attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral approaches, Psychodynamic and Jungian frameworks, Imago, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems, choosing what is actually useful for your situation.

The goal is always practical: clearer self-understanding, more deliberate choices, and a way of relating to yourself and others that feels genuinely yours. Sessions are direct and collaborative, sometimes serious, sometimes surprisingly candid.

I also use objective assessment tools to help uncover patterns that may not be immediately visible, how your history, your culture, and the roles you have carried shape what is showing up in your relationships and your inner life now.
